Pacific daylight time, abbreviated as PDT, is a timezone widely used in the five states of the United States of America and two provinces/territories in Canada. Furthermore, PDT is also used in Baja California and Mexico. As it spans over so many countries and regions, Pacific Daylight Time has become the third most populated timezone in the United States.

In 2006 the clocks were moved in the following manner, which was later changed after the Energy Policy Act of 2005, implemented in 2007.

  • The clocks were moved forward from 2:00 AM to 3:00 AM on the first Sunday in April. 
  • And then, on the last Sunday in October, the clocks move backward from 2:00 AM to 1:00 AM. 

Whereas in 2007, the Standard Time Zone started changing to the Daylight Saving Time on the following dates till now.

  • On the second Sunday in March, the clocks are moved forward from 2:00 AM to 3:00 AM. 
  • On the first Sunday in November, the clocks are moved backward from 2:00 AM to 1:00 AM.
